Oto, co nowy dyrektor zarządzający greckiej korporacji powiedział dziennikowi Financial Times:
Antenna, one of the largest media companies in Greece, will explore opportunities in countries including Turkey, Poland, Romania and Hungary. Mr Smith said he believed that markets there would improve.I dalej:
“My sense is that we’re seeing the bottom of the advertising markets,” he said. “There are real opportunities to buy and build and invest in assets now for the brave.”
Mr Smith said he would initially look at “smaller acquisitions” of about €50m in production companies, free-to-air television, pay television, distribution via the internet and other areas.
The appointment of Mr Smith is a sign that the company is preparing to accelerate its expansion across eastern Europe and is interested in pay TV and content production.
“What’s interesting about this part of the world,” Mr Smith said, making a contrast with established markets such as the UK, “is that dramas can be produced at a tenth of the price.”
Productions companies in eastern Europe could be acquired at valuation multiples of as little as two times earnings, he said, compared with about 10 times in the UK and the US.
